It seems that I've begun this year willing to do many projects... while I was visiting Gemma's blog (Wasel Wasel), I found out that she and María, De Estraperlo blog, have organized a CAL (Crochet Along) to crochet Conchita and I didn't think it twice.

I was late when they organized both CALs to crochet Minus and Pickles, but now that I'm in time, I've joined without a doubt.

Llum Barcelona

This weekend, Barcelona has celebrated the festivites dedicated to Santa Eulàlia, the city's co-patron saint. Like in the last years, it has taken place Llum Barcelona Festival. The city's famous buildings, squares and courtyards have been transformed with light by celebrated artists and students from art, architecture, design and light schools.

This year I've visited some of the installations from two of the three proposed routes.

Although photos have nothing to do with reality, here you can see some in order that you can imagine how it was.

I've enjoyed it a lot because, apart from seeing these shows, you have the chance to go in some historical buildings you couldn't otherwise visit.

I really liked the effect given by the lights, as if they were little stars projected everywhere, on the ground, walls and sky.

To follow each route, lights in the street were dressed like the ones in the photo below. It wasn't possible to get lost.

The Splendid Sampler

In all years I've been doing patchwork, I've never made any Sampler, not even when I began.
The other day, when I was surfing the Internet, I knew the new free project organized by designers Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson: The Splendid Sampler, and I thought it could be the ideal time to begin mine.

Tres conejitos bípedos/ Three Two-Legged Bunnies

Since I gave my newborn nephew, Fabio, Lanukas' two-legged bunny, his brother Simon, who is 3 years old, got very attached to it and he slept with it every night. Believe me when I tell you this was very strange because Simon had never slept with softies before.

Last Autumn, when I spent some days with them, one night I tucked him up in bed and he explained to me that the bunny wasn't his but the baby's. He said that with a little voice, so I promised him I would do one for him. He was so happy then and he asked for an orange one, of course.

So, when I got home, I got down to work to crochet his orange bunny as I had decided to give it to him at Christmas.

Unlike Simon, his brother Bruno has always slept with many softies, so I also made one for him, but in green, his favourite colour.

And the third one? This one was for Jan, my colleague's son, who is also three years old. In this case, the mummy chose this beautiful lemon yellow colour.

Don't you think it's a wonderful amigurumi? I don't get tired of doing it, and it's a great success among children and adults. You can find the free pattern in Lanukas' blog.
